Prisoner of the Elements is the first in a series of fantasy novels by Zian Schafer.
Zian approached me looking for a cover design to convey the ideas of power and imprisonment with a symbolic take. She wanted to follow the general aesthetic of fantasy novels such as the City of Thorns, while still creating a unique and eye catching take on the aesthetic.
Together we talked through her themes and ideas to create this design, one that Zian can be proud to see on the shelf.
